CALA, a vision

Our Philosophy

At Cala, we see childhood as a journey of self-discovery, creativity, and wonder. Our philosophy centers on nurturing each child’s unique potential, empowering them to explore, question, and grow. We believe children learn best when they’re having fun, and our programs are designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and independence. We focus on holistic development, encouraging independence and exploration.

Our vision is to become a catalyst for positive change in Banaras—where families come together, cultures blend, and new ideas flourish. Through a play-based, Montessori-inspired approach, we blend education with creativity to provide children with a foundation that not only prepares them for academic success but also cultivates lifelong confidence, compassion, and curiosity. Built on the values of trust, warmth, and inclusivity, Cala is a nurturing sanctuary for everyone.

Here, learning is an adventure designed to celebrate both independence and imagination. Here, you get to be a part of a community where as parents you can connect, share your journeys, and uplift one another. Here, as a child you will feel valued and as a parent you will find their tribe. Because, at Cala, we’re building more than a space; we’re building dreams, one child and parent at a time.

Founder's Note

Cala was born from a powerful vision: to create a space where children could flourish, feel at home, and build a foundation for life. For Priyankaa, Cala is more than just a learning center—it’s the realization of her dream to combine her roles as a mother and a creator, blending her personal journey with her passion for creativity, curiosity and community. Priyankaa saw Banaras as a city rich in talent and tradition but yearning for a stage where young minds could access resources, guidance, and a supportive community to truly thrive.

“ I want to bridge this gap, to give families a place to trust and build their children’s foundation because your foundation decides how the rest of your life will be!”

Driven by the desire to create something beautiful and meaningful, Priyanka founded Cala not only for her own family but for her extended family - the humans of Banaras. She hopes that with your support, Cala grows into a movement, one that changes the way we look at childhood, education, and community. More than anything, she wants Cala to be remembered as the place where countless stories began—the stories of children who found their voice, their confidence, and their path.
